English tags based on PennTree I Tags (36) by Beatrice Santorini, Part-of-Speech Tagging Guidelines for the Penn Treebank Project (1991), with additional tags for auxilliaries and punctuation.
POS tags have been automatically added, originally by freeling, later by NLTK, and only corrected when relevant to the sense tagging. So the corpus is not really a good source of POS data.
